Purpose
This model is designed to mount a 37mm filter to a Ferret scanner. The primary purpose is to facilitate cross-polarization, which helps eliminate glare from 3D objects during the scanning process.
Practical Uses
It is used specifically for enhancing image capture when using the Ferret scanner. The design includes a built-in gap between the scanner and the print surface to prevent scratching during use.
Included Parts
- Ferret_37mm_Mount.stl
- Ferret_37mm_Mount.stp (provided for potential adjustments)
Printing and Assembly Guidance
When printing, the author notes that supports are required for the overhang where the filter insets. Regarding assembly, the 37mm filter is intended to sit securely in the mount; however, the author suggests that sticky tack or other methods may be necessary if the filter falls out easily.
