Description
A tool created to assist with scanning. The author reports using an AC Kobra 2 Max for production. The author suggests using PLA with 20% gyroid infill and a few walls, noting that more walls should be used if heavier objects are intended. The author states it fits the Creality Raptor pad perfectly and that the extrusion is easy to operate with a finger.
Required components:
- A steel spacer with a 1/2" OD
- A shaft collar with 1/2" ID and 1" OD
- A flanged ball bearing for a 1/2" OD shaft, with a housing OD of 1", protruding on one side only
- Eskonke Retaining Compound 638 to glue the shaft to the bearing
The author notes that the bearing depth and flange size are not critical, as the shaft collar manages depth. The author reports scuffing the bearing housing with sandpaper and using Slow CA with an accelerant to glue the bearing in. The author mentions having to Dremel the hole for the shaft collar on their specific unit, though everything else fit well.

I used an AC Kobra 2 Max for this simple tool I made to help with scanning. I haven't built my PXL yet, and I'll dial this in for it when I do. I used PLA, 20% gyroid infill with a few walls. use more walls if you have heavier objects in mind. It fits the Creality Raptor pad perfectly, and the extrusion is easy to operate with your finger. You will need a steel spacer with a ½" OD, a shaft collar with ½" ID and 1" OD, and a flanged ball bearing for a ½" OD shaft, with a housing OD of 1", that protrudes on one side only. You will need Eskonke Retaining Compound 638 to glue the shaft to the bearing. The depth of the bearing isn't that important, that's what the shaft collar is for. Also, the flange size isn't that important. I scuffed the bearing housing with sandpaper and then used Slow CA and a little accelerant to glue the bearing in. I had to Dremel the hole for the shaft collar a bit on mine, everything else fit well.
