Model information
Description
AVEX-2 1120mm - 3D Printed RC Airplane
Purpose
This model is a 3D printed remote-controlled airplane designed with a NACA 2410 airfoil profile. It is intended to achieve a target All-Up Weight (AUW) of approximately 1200g (+100g).
Practical Uses
This model is designed for RC flight using a single motor configuration. It is compatible with 2807 to 2812 brushless motors.
Included Parts and Hardware
The model features a wingspan of 1120 mm, a length of 680 mm, and a wing area of 21.56 dm². Required hardware and reinforcement include:
- 1x Main Wing Spar (6mm x 900mm rod)
- 1x Secondary Wing Spar (6mm x 300mm rod or BBQ skewer stick)
- 2x Elevon Control Rods (3mm x 300mm rods or BBQ skewer sticks)
- 2x 9g Micro servos
- Brushless motor (2807 to 2812 size)
Printing and Assembly Guidance
The author recommends using PETG filament. The estimated print weight is between 600g and 700g. Recommended print settings are:
- Layer Height: 0.28 mm
- Wall Loops: 1
- Top Shell Layers: 3
- Bottom Shell Layers: 2
- Sparse Infill Density: 3–4%
- Sparse Infill Pattern: Cubic
