How to add 115V/220V AC Chamber heater to Creality K1 Series or any klipper printer
A guide for installing a 115V/220V AC chamber heater for the Creality K1 series or any Klipper-based printer. WARNING: Disconnect your printer from AC power before proceeding. Death or serious injury may result from attempting to work on your printer while it is plugged into AC power. The author describes a safety-focused setup for a 115V/220V heater element including: - A 40 amp SSR heater element controlled by a relay connected to the heater fan (ensuring the element only activates if the fan is working). - A normally closed thermostat that opens at 75°C to close the heater element. - An inner sensor for shutting down Klipper if the heater element passes 125°C. - An AC voltage fuse. - The heater fan remains on until the chamber sensor reaches 40°C to ensure the heater element cools down before turning off. Note: The author states they only go up to 60°C in their chamber. You must choose the sensors and temperature settings in the CFG file to fit your needs. Disclaimer: Use at Your Own Risk. Required components listed by the author: - Qibi Plus 4 115/220V Chamber Heater (or a custom one using Nylon). - BTT SKR Pico, Mellow Micro 4, or existing pins on the printer motherboard (check amp and voltage ratings for pins used). - 24V 30A One Channel Relay Module. - 40A Heat Sink SSR Solid State Relay. - Bimetal Temperature Control Switch Thermostat 75°C N.C (KSD9700). - NTC Thermistor 100K, NTC 3950 100K ohm. - Fuse Holder Inline Screw Type with Fast Blow Glass Fuses. - 14-16 gauge wire. Instructions: - Check the wiring picture (not provided in text). - Adjust the pin layout to your needs. - For Klipper to SAVE_CONFIG after PID_CALIBRATE_CHAMBER_HEATER, the [heater_generic chamber_heater] section must be in printer.cfg. - In Orca Slicer, choose Chamber temperature and enable Activate temperature control. - This tutorial does not instruct where to place the heater in the chamber; ensure a suitable location is chosen.
